I have heard of ectoplasm from ghosts but haven't a clue what ecto itself means :(

Ghost plasm it is not.

Sounds like something to do with an echo...but I'm afraid my walking, talking Geek Boy of a dictionary isn't awake for me to ask (you said no google, not geek boy!)

Geek boy/husband/other/wife allowed.
However,
Echo is pretty far off.

I know... but won't tell.

(I blame my Spartan Latin teachers of 'once ago' for this deviance. Not that I was ever any good at Latin, but I sure know my vocab lists.
I cannot read an analogue clock though...)

ecto = not defined, as in ectoplasma, a plasma of unknown origin?

Wrong-diddley-wrong to both "Thank you" and "Not defined".
