Verdi by Janell Cannon

Along with the miscellaneous texts from school I have been reading a fascinating children's book called Verdi. In fact I have read it over and over, and each time my child is spell bound. It is a thin picture book looking into the fast paced life of a green island snake named Verdi. It is full of adventure, humor and lots of vivid color. He is a featured link into the book itself.

Love the cover of the book! Unfortunately the book isn't available over here. I'll watch out for it.
My own son is currently fascinated by the books of Rotraut Susanne Berner, very fascinating books with 'large as baby'-pages filled with dozens of characters and possible storylines. (The author, btw, was recently in the news becuz her American publisher objected to the drawing of some children wandering through a museum, wherein - oh boy - there was one nude painting (a Rubens, for instance) and a statue with a teeny tiny willy (a Michelangelo perhaps). The author didn't give in, & so the book will not be published in the UsA.)
